Bernice Garnick Spaulding High School scrapbook, 1961-1964.

This item consists of Bernice Garnick's scrapbook documenting her time as a Spaulding High School graduate. The scrapbook is primarily composed of news clippings about Spaulding High School (SHS) events, students, and alumni, as well as certificates and other ephemera of Bernice Garnick. Events documented include commencements, proms, concerts, plays, and banquets. Both the honor roll and improvements to the high school buildings and campus are mentioned. Many clippings in the scrapbook were written by SHS graduate, Claire Mashia (class of 1963), as part of a column called the "Spaulding Telstar." Two issues of the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus with information about class day (June 10, 1964) and commencement exercises (June 12, 1964) in 1964 are also included with the scrapbook.

Bernice C. Garnick was born on February 12, 1947. She grew up in Barre, Vermont, and attended Spaulding High School, graduating with the class of 1964. After graduation from Spaulding, she briefly worked as a clerk for the M H Fishman Co in Barre and continued her studies. She later moved to Boston, where she was self-employed as a medical transcriptionist and owner of a transcription business called Written Image.
